An outrageous infringement of civil liberties. And a good response by Phil. Shades of McCarthyism and other unsavoury periods of US history.
I recall the forerunners of the Seattle SWAT (the TAC squad as they were) during one of the great unrecorded events of the 20th century – the invasion of the United States by Canadian anti-war activists in 1970 in respons to the US invasion of Cambodia:
